Well, I said I would. And lo, two weeks later, here I am. To reflect on the past couple weeks, to log my progression, to speak on the state of WTF Trading.

I've got a couple designs I'm developing right now that I think will look good as tees. One as red ink on white and purple ink on black, the other as simple white ink on black. I'm gonna attach the sketch for the latter, plus a couple odd ones from the past couple weeks. It always feels, especially in these evening times after unproductive days, like I don't do much. Looking back... good enough. I've practiced elements of my style, shown veritable growth, and while I never feel like I do enough (does anyone?), I did enough. I'll aim to have those two designs designed, mocked and listed by next weekend, maybe even throw in a sticker variant and an extra piece that is percolating as I type. I've also printed a batch of the stickers I've listed so far, so now I have physical copies that I can photograph and add to the listings. Look forward to hearing about those developments a couple weeks from now.

University is starting up again. It's nice, in some ways. It's good to have a couple things to fill the time that aren't just forms of consumption. I live off campus, and while some might find commuting to be a drudge, I think it meditative. And it's cool to be somewhere that ain't home for solid chunks of time. However, I do fear the tone of the coming months. I am shipping my self off to the land of big think and political discourse in a time where thought at large is at an all time negative and the news has us all convinced that the world is going to blow. I imagine hyper-polar assholes are gonna be vying for my sword in their stupid digitized politic-wars. Eh. It's all noise anyways.

I don't want to end on such a stupid note, so I'm gonna talk about random bullshit now. Weird indie media! It is the thinnest yet brightest of silver linings in the larger internet bog that occasionally by pursuing the faintest of leads one may find some truly good shit. For example, less than a week ago I got a song from the DLC of a game I've never heard of, a game by the name of Star Fetchers, recommended to me on YouTube. Wondered what the hell it was, followed the rabbit down the hole, and lo, I've got over ten hours in a game I beat in less than five. It's weird to think how much of the media that I would call formative in my life has come from complete algorithmic chance via social media. I first heard of my favorite band in a YouTube video that mentioned it in a two minute segment. I discovered one of my favorite comic artists through references within a game that I heard about in another random video. I first started listening to punk because someone in a server I was in recommended I mod Crazy Taxi to include the original music. How would I have been different if I had never the curiosity to pursue strange leads? It's weird that we're at the point where media is something that's "formative". Man.

So. Returning to the beginning. New designs coming, because I say so, and actual visuals to reference when perusing the stickers. Though I don't feeeel the site's come that far, it's looking solid all things considered. I gotta build newsletter templates, do some corporate and financial stuff to the back end, start posting shit to social media, and fix the load times, but who knows. With a little consistency maybe we can go from soft launch to full launch by 2025. Here's hoping.
